Emergency Paediatric First Aid course covers nine key areas of child-related first aid, including critical topics such as CPR, choking, head injuries, and anaphylaxis.

This course meets the First Aid requirements of OFSTED for the voluntary register.

We also provide the Common Core of Skills and Knowledge course, and an Enhanced DBS check service. If you need these as well as first aid, you might want to consider our Ofsted package.

Course Structure

Classroom Content

The 6 hour classroom based component covers how to deal with accidents and emergencies involving young children, including:

  • Role and responsibilities of paediatric first aider
  • Incident and casualty assessment
  • CPR
  • Unconscious casualty
  • Recovery position
  • Management of a seizure
  • Choking
  • Anaphylaxis
  • Shock
  • External bleeding

Duration
6 hour classroom training The course is run in 1 day, from 9:45am-3:45pm. Please make sure you arrive before the course starts. Those arriving more than 15 minutes late may be refused entry. Certificates are usually ready for collection at the end of the training ID required, please bring this with you when attending.
Location
Our regular venue is the Wesley in Euston, NW1. If you are looking to run a private session for your own setting or group, we can also arrange for bespoke training at your own venue.

Certification
Level 3 Paediatric First Aid certification, approved by Ofsted
Who is this suitable for?

Nannies, Nanny/Housekeepers, Parent’s Helps, Parents/Grandparents or those within Early Years who are working as part of a team with other staff who hold a Full Paediatric First Aid Certificate. Childminders or those working alone on the Compulsory Ofsted Register must take the Full Paediatric First Aid Course.
