ABOUT THE COURSE

Nannies are perfectly placed to support the early learning and development for children of various ages, working closely with parents to provide bespoke childcare.

Nannies differ from childminders in that they work at the family’s residence, and oftentimes work more closely with the parents.

This qualification prepares learners who want to be employed in a home-based childcare setting as a nanny.

Duration: The course is split into 8 weekly online live sessions, 1 per week and should take around 50 hours to complete.

Time commitment: The expected time commitment is about 6 hours per week across the 10 weeks, made up of trainer-led teaching, and guided self-study.

Entry requirements: There are no formal entry requirements, but students must have a good level of English, and experience of the Early Years is desirable.

Assessment criteria: Each learner must create a portfolio of evidence generated from appropriate assessment tasks, which demonstrates achievement of all the learning outcomes associated with each unit. The assessment tasks should allow the learner to respond to a real life situation that they may face when in employment.
