We offer paediatric first aid training at two levels:

  • Emergency Paediatric First Aid
  • Full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid

Emergency Paediatric First Aid (EPFA)

The Emergency Paediatric First Aid course is a concise 6-hour classroom-based training, designed to teach essential skills for managing child-related emergencies.

This course is ideal for babysitters, nannies, and caregivers who want to gain practical knowledge in responding to emergencies.

It is also fully compliant for nannies seeking to join the Voluntary Ofsted Register, ensuring that they meet the required standards for childminders and early years providers.

While Ofsted will accept the Emergency Paediatric First Aid course for nannies wishing to join the Voluntary Ofsted Register,  it is recommended to complete the Full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid course. The extended course provides more comprehensive training, covering essential skills for dealing with both minor and major child-related injuries, ensuring you’re fully equipped to handle a wider range of emergency situations.

Full 12 hour Paediatric First Aid (PFA12Hr):

The Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid is specifically designed to meet the criteria set by the Department for Education’s EYFS Framework. This course is ideal for:

  • Early Years Practitioners who have obtained a Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification and are working in an early years setting, wishing to be included in the staff-to-child ratios to comply with EYFS requirements.
  • Registered childminders and assistants who are required to hold a current and valid Paediatric First Aid certificate to meet EYFS and Ofsted regulations.
  • Parents, grandparents, or caregivers who want to learn essential paediatric first aid skills.
