Introduction to Home Based Childcare

Our NCFE Level 3 award in ‘Preparing to work in a Home Based Childcare Setting’ provides all the training you need to do just that.

The course is split into 3 units. Unit 1 is mandatory and covers the essential knowledge required to work with children in a home based setting.

Units 2 and 3 are selective – unit 2 is for the childminder pathway and prepares learners to set up a home based childcare business; unit 3 is for the nanny pathway and explores the roles and responsibilities of the nanny.

Both the childminder path and nanny path lead to rewarding careers.
