This session will cover Attachment Theory and the impact of positive/negative attachment on cognitive development. It will discuss the different forms of attachment and the concept of ‘mind mindedness’. It will look at how infants can communicate their needs when non verbal and how responses from caregivers influence brain development. It will look at impact of early attachment experiences going forward into childhood, adolescence and adulthood. It is recognised that there is not enough education in school on healthy relationships, how to build and sustain trusting relationships/friendships. This seminar will provide neuropsychological information as well as case studies. Guidance on how to identify poor attachemnt. Anyone working with parents, infants and children will find it informative and relevant to their work.
