Learning through Play
ABOUT THE COURSE
Learning Through Play’ is a Continuing Professional Development course looking deeper in the role of play in children’s learning and how childcarers and parents can promote this. It will help you tune into a child’s learning style and introduce activities appropriate to their age.

Anyone working with children will find this course interesting and enlightening, including nannies, childminders, au pairs, nursery workers and preschool leaders.

Certification
A certificate of attendance is provided at the end of the day for your portfolio.
Course Content
The course starts with the fundamental principles of how children learn through play and how play influences all aspects of child development. It explores the role of a childcarer in supporting and developing play, tuning into play, identifying learning opportunities and learning styles, different theories about play and planning appropriate activities in the home and outside. Finally it covers how you can communicate effectively with parents about learning objectives and progress.
