This workshop will provide learners with the knowledge and skills needed to best support young children with English as an Additional Language (EAL). Learners will explore the official definitions of EAL, early language acquisition and ideas on providing a pedagogical approach in delivering a targeted an innovative curriculum.
The course will discuss factors to consider when assessing where children are in their learning. How early years practitioners can effectively tailor their practice, to ensure children with EAL are extremely well supported and make excellent progress. The course will look at approaches to consider in ensuring your early years setting is inclusive, creating an environment that celebrates and respects children’s home language.
