This live webinar is to bring education to attending practitioners about autism from an identity-positive framework.
The webinar will begin by providing foundational terminology used by the Autistic community. This is to help learners join the conversation about the well-being and care of Autistic children. Next, learners will be guided through the question ‘What does it mean to be Autistic?’. This will lead to looking at traits of Autistic children and how these shape Autistic children’s decision making, play, learning and enjoyment. We will also be discussing who makes up the Autistic community and the diversity within this community. The webinar will conclude with a discussion about how learners can be an ally to the Autistic community
